Progress begins before production, with the potential of incoming goods

Optimisation is not only focused on production processes. Upstream areas, such as logistics and incoming goods, often offer untapped potential. Incoming goods processes determine whether the right items enter the production cycle in the correct quantity and quality. Significant progress has now been made with the introduction of the WE Control Dome incoming goods station from Comp Control.

Previously, goods receipt was characterised by a high level of manual activity: Alphanumeric codes had to be read by employees and manually compared with the system.

This process was not only time-consuming, but also prone to errors. Faulty or incorrectly labelled components could lead to incorrect assemblies, which could have serious consequences such as production errors, rejects or even recalls. Therefore, a structured and reliable incoming goods process is essential for quality assurance and the efficiency of the entire production process.

Display in the software during goods receipt - all information is automatically read out, 1 image per goods receipt is recorded and all information is transferred to the database.

The new incoming goods station is an important step towards digitalisation and automation. Equipped with a high-resolution camera system, it can reliably recognise all common codes and plain text information. This information is then automatically compared with the article master data and the order. This drastically reduces the probability of errors and significantly increases the efficiency of incoming goods, providing real benefits to the entire process chain.

Consequently, the Dresden site has created the foundation for enhanced product quality and a robust traceability system, further solidifying its position as a dependable partner for cutting-edge electronics solutions.
